Our team carried out a comprehensive forensic analysis of two major foreign projects undertaken by a construction and engineering company. The review covered financial and managerial accounting of the projects and whole organisation, identifying budget deviations, operational shortcomings, and the weaknesses in overall functionality of internal control systems. We also assessed potential misconduct under criminal, civil, and labour laws.
The investigation revealed that long-term omitted deficiencies in project management contributed to substantial financial losses over several years. In addition, we identified discrepancies between financial and managerial accounting records, including irregular reconciliation practices. The use of non-transparent coefficient multipliers and negative accounting entries raised concerns regarding potential legal liabilities.
