Dan and his team were engaged to assess the transparency and internal governance procedures of an affordable housing initiative at a CE capital. The assignment was initiated in response to allegations appearing in anonymous letters and even certain media that several employees had colluded with applicants to grant them preferential treatment during tenant selection processes.
Following an in-depth review of all available documentation, communication records, and selection protocols, we found no evidence to substantiate the allegations of bribery, conflicts of interest, or undue influence. The accusations were deemed unfounded.
However, the investigation did reveal systemic shortcomings and a lack of transparency in the tenant selection procedures. Dan and his team proposed a set of robust internal measures designed to improve fairness, standardize decision-making criteria, and mitigate the risk of future irregularities.
